Japan in a day Part 3

Hello guys, John here and I will be bringing you more of what we did in Tokyo. I will just say the rest of the highlights in Tokyo because I can't really remember the days and nights:(. But this will still be a very good blog, up first I would like to mention that me and mom went on a walk to see Tokyo's crazy lights and adds featured on the billboards and buildings in hoping to find a shopping center. We found this food hall that had crazy expensive! I'll tell you the price for 2 perfect cantoloaps... 36000 yen, or in our money 360$... PLUS TAX! Crazy but that wasen't really the cool part. We went to this gaming floor which was bursting with sound, music and electronic noise and you had to yell to actually whisper to the person. So, I was actually allowed to get my hands on some sweet Tokyo tech and video games that weren't featured in our western homeland and guess what I got my grubby hands on... The Splatoon game which I have been playing for 20 minutes. I was kindove sad that Elizabeth wasen't there because she was just as big of a fan of Splatoon as I was so we came back there on the last day and she had a blast. We coulden't wait till we got our Hands on the actual game and play it on our wii u! Second on our list is the tour to mount fugi which was pretty fun considering the fact that it was a super cloudy day and we coulden't see the actual mountain from where everyone was, and so we decided to head back. Just at that moment, we saw the mountain through a little cloud oppening. We we're considered very lucky and so we got to do some origami with the tour lady. After our little visit, we ate this very nice tradicianal Japanese lunch and the best part about it was the 'Jelly' 'Fish' which was fish that felt like jelly. After our big lunch which by the way... Had to eat in a rush considering we took so much one of schedule to look at our lucky cache... Anyways, we took this gondola up a different mountain and it looked so cool up there, there was a nice shrine and it was so cool to look at the Fuji village from the top of the mountain, did I mention there was a ton of mist? That made it look like it was from a scene for the new mission impossible movie. So that was the second thing on our list, I'll tell you guys the third which is actually gonna be a cool one for my cousin Sarah so here we go. We went to a robotics museum which is not that unlikely since Tokyo is so tech based, and so there was this special exebit that just opened called the Pokemon lab. It was one of the cool exebits out there because there was this game where you had to guess the Pokemon in your poke ball which you acquire at the start. Anyways so I have to admit it was a little hard playing the game because it was all in Japanese and there was not even one single word in English. But I was still just amazed at how Japan is so crazy with Pokemon and is so proud of the company of Nintendo. At the end of the Pokemon game you were actually able to chose a Pokemon which came with a code to put in the real game and aquire that Pokemon. Beyond that station there was literally every Pokemon  in 3d versions, all in glass containers which I personally though was pretty cool, we had the 100000 yen worth Pokemon card displayed safely and a wall featuring every single Pokemon ever published in a game. Now that right there is an awesome exhibit. There was a bunch of other cool exhibits in the museum but I think I pretty much coverd enough in Tokyo and should probably start in kosimoye, I now i missed a lot of the cool parts in Tokyo and didn't cover it all but hey! Who knows? I might do more Tokyo in the future considerin it's my favourite country and got so much fun out of it. Until next time, this has been john and is officially signing out. I know I haven't been putting any pictures up lately but tonight, I will spend time on that and its not like you guys need photos?

Curry, Massage, and Tailless Cats

Hello guys, John here and giving you my only blog of Bangkok. So I will only be talking about a few things because I am pressed to finish my Japan blogs and as you can tell, Elizabeth has skipped Japan and I don't want to, considering it's my favourite country. So I won't talk about every thing in every day like I will be doin in Japan. Let's start with the cats in Bangkok, for some reason all the cats in Bangkok except for the exception of 2 cats(But we saw about 23 cats so that's beside the point), have lost part of there tails. Do my mistake me, every single cat had this problem and I'm thinking that it's because there are to many motorcycles and they got the tails crushed, Saaaaaaad :(. Next thing on the list are the massages that me, Elizabeth and mom got. I honestly really enjoyed it, and the fact that I asked for a foot massage and they gave me the full massage was really generous... Or they just miscommunicated. Something that looked kindle cool but also painful was mom's massage that I was 5 feet away, I could see the women pumping her into her own doom which I must say. Was amusing when you could hear the cries of mom. Last but not least on our list is the signature dish of Thai land and one of my favorites... The cury! Now you need to know one thing about cury, it's crazy spicy but it's completely worth it. I probably though it was really spicy because I kept getting the second hottest cury (Green cury) and asking them not to hold back by saying 'Thai spicy please!). It's super good, and yet we did have another cury in Bangkok which is not as spicy, more mild but really good. I actually suggest that you try these too and if you want, go crazy with the jungle cury which I'll be trying probably on the last day in Thailand, mom says I am still not ready, but with great power, comes great responsibility. Until next time guys, this has been john andis officially signing out. I will be putting pictures in later but I am really lazy and I think you can last a few days without em.

Japan in a day Part 2

Hello guys, John here and giving everything that happened in Tokyo. Now I'm not sure if I will be able to squeeze everything in one blog but we will see how it goes. If it does in fact get to long I can assure you that there will be a part 3. Anyways so we arrive in Tokyo and the first thing we notice is the strong and beautiful lights of the tall buildings in Tokyo, we in fact spot these on our way to the hotel while in a taxi/cab. We arrive at our hotel and so we decide that me and dad will crash together while my sis and mom will have there girly slumber party or whatever? Anyways so that's about it on day one and me and dad we're about to go to bed, but then mom and Elizabeth show up at he front of the door rigning our doorbell and guess whAt? They found this ugly thing called a kimono in their room and started calling it their new style for Japan. I notice the eagerness in dad's eyes for those kimonos and ask's if we have a pair in our room. I immediately shove them and push them of of the room because I don't want a crazy hippy sipping his beer in my room while I was sleeping soooo... Yeah I gave him the talk... And there you day one in Japan, can't wait for more exciting moments that my family will present. When we wake up in the morning I couldn't help but tell dad my bed was uncomfortable when everybody else said that this was the best bed they have slepted on in forever. We go for the Hotel Asian  breakfast and so we start the day! Besides the jet lag and the lack of sleep we felt pretty good and up for the welcome I Tokyo tour that was set up by mom so that we can get I know Tokyo in the least amount of time, considering we are only staying there 7 days and 6 nights. I have to say the tour was great and or tour guide was very friendly, now it will take forever to talk about every little thing on our tour but we did get a little treat given by Mataki (The tour guy). We received this wasabi kit kats that we're surprisingly good and delish. Me and Elizabeth devoured everyone else because they did not want it... More for us, right? So then we go out for lunch and eat a nice noodle dish. I can't really remember a lot from there but I'm pretty sure this has been a amusing blog for all you Jelly Lovers. Anyways right now I am making my way to cosimoy on a overnight train, first class is cool... Anyways I hope you have enjoyed this session and until next time, this been john and officially signing out, I am really really far back on my blogs but bare with me and understand that I am having a way better time that you peeps. Also there may not be as many pictures as you may hope for but I'll see what I can do

Japan in a day Part 1

Hello guys, John here and bringing you the entire week of Japan in just one blog because I think I can finally place what was happiness into words. Now I know this blog will be long but just bare with me, by the way I am in Bangkok right now which is pretty awesome by the way, but in order to talk about that I need to finish this masterbeast (Get it? I said masterbeast instead of masterpiece because it's a long blog?). Anyways so first off, let's talk about the plane ride, you will not believe the things on this plane, there was a pullout remote/video game controller in the seat and you we're able to play games with people around you (Me and dad hit it off with Tetris) and watch movies which had one of them that I was pretty interested in... Insurgent which I did not see yet and was eager too watch on this 10 hour flight... Oh yeah I forgot, this plane ride was 10 hours (Long right?) Anyways the last thing I'll say about the plane are the toilets which they have everywhere you go in Japan. But these toilets are not normal toilets, they have plenty of buttons that are variations of water shooting up your butt. It feels pretty good (TMI!!!!) but it did not feel normal so I didn't do it often in Japan. Anyways that was the plane ride TO Japan, that was actually longer that it should've been but that's okay! I told you this was gonna be long so there you go... Potentially long blog. I think this should be broken up into parts soooooo... Until next time, this has been John and is officially signing out. Sorry pics are blurry...

British Columbia part 3

Hello, this is john and is bringing you the last part of British Columbia. So first off, we are in Vancouver while staying at the nicest hotel... The fairmont hotel which has everything a guy or gal needs and I can assure you that you will have a great time there. I won't go into depth about the hotel cause I'm trying to make my post a smaller quantity but  it was just absolutely to die for and I think I can show you some pictures. Anyways.. This was the city where I did the most of my geocaching with 12 finds, we also visited uncle Robert with his swanky place and went out for dinner with him at a Thai restaurant with my favorite dish of all... CURY!!! (Thailand is tomorrow!) Seeing uncle Robert was the last time we saw any relatives because it's straight on adventure from there. We talked about a lot of things like the Turnbull clock that he wishes to donate to me as it is part of the history of the Turnbulls, but all in all we had a great time, lots of geocaches and great food. So I think it's safe to say that that was the last bit of luxury before Asia (As my mom said). Don't worry there will be photos down below but this is John and is officially signing out. Until next which is finally going to be talking about Tokyo and I will be editing my last blog with the pictures I promised.

British Columbia Part 2 / Update

Hey guys, John here and I'm bringing here to you what I did in Vancouver island. Now I know it's completely late for that stuff and I should be talking about Japan, but I've been so busy/having the time of my life, that I can't put into words what I've done in Japan, these types of blogs will be posted after this one and part 3 so just hang on there, but if you don want to know now just check my family's poorly written blogs for quantity, but I have the quality sooooo yeah. I will just stop there and let you know I am having a great time in Japan with my family. Okay enough, of that let's get straight into Vancouver island featuring... Grandma barb and Jim! (I have 6 grandparents, get over it). Anyways, once we arrive there, we immediately go to the beach and did some skim boarding and geocaches, we had ice cream (Mine fell off on the floor, things just got personal) and that's pretty much all I can remember of day 1. But we pretty much did a lot of that, we had a good time with them and they had a cat, his name is 'Tiger, but pronounced 'Teger'. And just had a all in all good time there, the reason why I'm speeding up a bit is because I have a slideshow with a lot of pictures with subtitles that says it all. I'll just do my exit here, this has been John and is officially signing out. Let the slideshow commence!

British Columbia Part:1 / Japan

Hello guys, it's me John and His think you might have guessed it from the title. Well yeah, Japan is finally here, my favourite country and most excited destination on this adventure. Tomorrow at 4pm I will be leaving (If it's safe to say) to one of the greatest country's on Earth. The flight will be long, but we will be riding in style as our plane is completely Japanese and has a cool modern architecture for the plane, one of the many things that I love about Japan is their fancy architecture. That's all I have to say for now about this interesting area, but what I really wanted to make this blog about is an update of what everything we did in Vancouver. Now, I might not mention every little second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year (Went a lil overboard their but I felt the need) but that's okay cause I will be sharing the highlights. *WARNING, THIS BLOG WILL BE BIG SO BRACE YOURSELF, I'M LOOKING AT YOU DJANGO, THERE WILL BE A SERIES OF PARTS*. So basically this all takes place in British Columbia and we start off by spending 4 days in Abbotsford, this is where we meet the big family of my father. This involves everyone like my grandparents, my cousins, second cousins, uncles second uncles, ant's and second ant's, everyone and more because I didn't know half of them. It's was great meeting them all, there was just a lot, we had big dinners and lunches, it was all great and I really had a great time. We of course did a lot of things like go to castle fun park with grandpa (Fun arcade), go geocaching but we only found 3 (I was a beginner so chill), and a lot of talking, well I didn't do a lot of that but during that time I got to bond with grandma and gramps Turnbull's two cats, Prince and Misty. Now what you have to know when it comes to prince and misty is that Misty is shy, Prince is evil, Misty is a nice cat but she is scared of everyone so she hides in the basement, you can pet her if your alone and she is super soft. Okay that was the good cat, now we have the deva, Prince or Princy Boy, he is super protective of her surroundings that if you get in her bubble (Which is about 3 feet wide) you will get a nice punch to whatever she get her hands on. Now you would think it's just new people who walk in the house or just the children, noooooooooo, we have confirmed this because of the recent drama when Princy boy decided to hit her owner 10 times while causing the hissiest fit in front of the family. Let's stop it their because I don't want to get hit in the face next times I come to grandma and grandpas's house, yknow she reads my blog. We also hiked to the Bridal vail falls which is 10/10 the most beautiful falls ever, I have pictures but we basically walked up to the 'PLEASE DON'T PASS, HAZARDOUS AREA' sign and went to the top to get some decent photos. Anyways that was part one of British Columbia which let me remind you again we're the highlights. Part two will be Vancouver island, but until next time. This has been John and is signing out.

Geocaching

Hello fellow people who like the read about how my trip around the world is so much better than your life 'blog'. I will be sharing you today a little activity that me and my family will be doing all around the world and doing right now! GEOCACHING! Which is basically 2,747,381 little or big hidden containers around the entire world. It's a really fun little scavenger hunt that I am already addicted to (Video Games is out of the line) that can be found using coordinates, compasses, maps and hints. It's a nice little way for tricking kids into doing exercise in hoping to find a container filed with paper and little objects/doodads. The paper in these containers contains wrighting that is known as a geo log that let's other people know that you've found the geo cache before them. The paper reminds me of school, YAY! People who are on the hunt for geo caches like myself are known as 'geo cachers' and the little containers are called 'geo caches' or simply just 'caches'. Me and my family our using the official geo cache app to find the geo caches which contains everything you need and I really don't want to explain every little feature so please just figure it out your selfs. Anyways me and my family have found 6 geo caches in total which we're all found in our first destination, British Columbia. But hey, who knows? We might find a few more before we leave, but I have to say that it is impressive that more than 2 million get caches are hidden around the globe. Well I guess you know my next addiction... Until next time, if you want to know a little bit more about geo caches because I didin't explain it enough I can give you a link to the Wikipedia page that I recommend reading. Actually just search it yourselfs, this has been John signing out. Wait one more thing before I pack this post up, with every geocache you find, you are suppose to take a picture of, so I will share 2 pictures that have may have a few of my relatives so that's supah dupah cool. If you we're wondering why I only posted those two pictures, well it's because I have way too many. But I will probably have a post just for pictures of geocaches, so it will be updated every day with new pictures and descriptions. Finally I'm done, until next time, John is fracking finally finished this post, sorry it's so long :(.

More about Splatoon

Splatoon is primarily a team-based third-person shooter which is playable by up to eight players in online four-versus-four matches, although the game also features local one-versus-one multiplayer matches and a single player campaign. Players control characters called Inklings, who have the ability to change between humanoid and squid forms. In humanoid form, Inklings can shoot ink in their team's color, which can be used to cover the environment or "splat" opposing players or enemies. Transforming into a squid allows players to swim through ink of their own color, even up walls and through grates, hiding from the enemy and replenishing their ink supply in the process. Conversely, enemy ink is much slower to move across in humanoid form and cannot be swum through in squid form. Players can use their ink to try and "splatter" their opponents, which will send them back to their team's respawn point whilst also providing a large splat of ink. In all modes, players can use the Wii U Gamepad to view a map of the surroundings and instantly launch towards the location of another teammate, as well as use optional gyroscopic controls to assist with aiming. Now you know a little bit more about Splatoon, my new favorited game which I have been watching videos of on YouTube during this trip for 4 days. Until next time, this has been John and has informed you more about Splatoon, signing out. A lot of the Splatoon explanation has been idea generated by Wikipedia soooooo... Yeah.

Splatoon

Hello, John here and this blog post is dedicated to this video game for the wii u that me and my sis are dying to have and the connections between it and the adventure. So first off, what is Splatoon? Well the game is basically a 3rd person shooter, that let's you turn into a squid and let's you shoot ink. Your goal to cover the most amount of turf than the other team for you to win. That was just the briefest point of view of the game to me but I hope you've got the point. Anyways, it's cool, has fiction, and is super very awesomely fragealisticaly fun. But the reason why I am talking about this in my travel blog is because of the relation of Splatoon with Japan. Everyone knows that I can't wait for Japan (A week from now :D), well there is actually a lot of examples of Japanese culture in this game that I can't wait for Japan once more. Splatoon is a really popular in Japan and potentially might be the next Mario game of the century. So you can kindove get my understanding why I can be excited for going to Japan, they will have Splatoon written all over the country. Here is one of the examples of why I think they will have tons of advertisements in Japan = Because they are already doing it in Ottawa, check out what I found while I was walking with my dad! Well you can say that I will be getting it for my b-day or Christmas but that's not right so yeah. This has been john and I am signing out with some Splatoon images so see you next time.
Anyways If you would like some examples of Japanese culture in Splatoon, then check out this video on YouTube. <Splatoon's Inkopolis IS TOKYO! - Culture Shock - YouTube>

Just about ready + Feelings

This is just a little post to say that tomorrow morning, I'm heading on a flight to my first destination of my adventure. I will basically be showing what I will be packing for the trip and that I have a bunch of mix feelings and I don't even know exactly what I feel about the trip. I'm completely excited, worried, scared, happy, cool, and sad. That's all I know about what I feel but I think I will come around once we hop onto this adventure ,so stay tuned. Basically my luggage was packed by my family (Mom) so I don't know exactly what she packed, but I know she packed clothes. Anyways, I have a luggage and a bag, my bag will be carrying everything to keep me entertained, hydrated, educated, so basically my needs like video games, camera, books, stuff like that (8 comas in one sentence, good one John (9)). But yeah that's that and... Well... Adventure Time tomorrow!!! Stay tuned for a blog about this cool video game, Splatoon. Until next time guys, this has been John and is signing out.

The Outcomes

So during this trip, there will a lot of different things going on. But it can be a good thing or a bad thing. One of the outcomes that may happen that's been on my mind lately is getting poisoned, bit, licked, or any sort of way of me getting hurt by a suspicious animal that we will be seeing on this adventure. Now I know the outcomes of this happening are petty slim but during my immunizations, the doctor told us not to pet any stray animals (Animals who have not been trained, taken care of, vaccinated so that they may carry diseases). Now let's look at the positive outcomes and they are pretty much certain. We will see, touch, smell and learn something new every day. It will be an amazing experience and I keep getting reminded for it. (This one's for you Pete) One of my family's friend told me the this was the coolest thing he's heard of and that this will be one of those things that 'sticks' with you until you turn 40, I'll be telling story's until then. Anyways there are plenty of good outcomes that will certainly happen on this trip, until the trip. This has been John, signing out!
